Yesterday we took a visit to Salamanca Tapas Bar located in the heart of Dublin ( 1 Andrew Street, Dublin 2, D02 R856 ) Founded in 2002 as one of the first Tapas Bars, and still remains top of the list for Spanish Tapas dishes in Dublin.

When speaking to Agnes from the marketing team she said their Chefs work very closely with their suppliers, ensuring only top quality dishes and tastes are brought to your table by friendly efficient staff. We had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Aishling who was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were fully satisfied. If your visiting we suggest you ask for her. the decor and atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting with a distinctive Spanish feel. As you all know timing is huge when it comes to our reviews and the wait time was perfect we weren't left twiddling our thumbs as soon as we finished our table was wiped down and we were giving a little break and the next course was provided. Our glasses were never left empty as the lovely Aishling kept right on top of that.

Head Chef Aleksandar Dimitrov is constantly sourcing good quality ingredients from Spain, creating authentic Spanish Tapas dishes which is also good to know and the taste said it all to be honest

Number 37.

GAMBAS PIL PIL €12.45

King Prawns in Olive Oil, Chilli, Garlic and Brandy Contains: (CR)(F)(SD)

Me myself ( Jason ) I don't eat prawns but when they are a popular choice on the menu I always give them a bash. The Olive Oil, Chilli, Garlic and Brandy combination is a good one as after I had eaten the prawns I went back to the sauce with my bread and dipped away until there was no more ( highly recommended )

Number 37.

SECRETO IBERICO AL GRILL €13.60

Char-grilled Iberian Pork “Secreto” marinated in Miso Paste, served with Rocket, Mustard Cress and traditional Apple Sauce Contains: (SB) (MS) (SD) NUEVO

Again not something I would normally go for but a very popular dish in Salamanca and again I wasn't disappointed! The meat was cooked to perfection and the apple sauce gave it an added something that I cant quite describe but it was amazing!

What I have learned from this visit is instead of asking for things you normally would when you go out for food to try to be a bit spontaneous from time to time. You will be surprised what you can discover, Step out of your comfort zone and ask what are your most popular dishes. Thank me later!

We highly recommend Salamanca Tapas Bar. From the food to the atmosphere to the staff we could not complain and we will 100% be back again. Huge thanks to Caroline for having us and providing me with her signed book A Taste Of Salamanca
